Sailing on the open Baltic Sea in front of northern Germanys longest promenade...

Between Rostock and Wismar, on the waterfront of the bay of Mecklenburg, the biggest Baltic Resort of northern Germany is located: Kühlungsborn! (http://www.kuehlungsborn.de)

In 2011 more than 200 white sails will cover the horizon here.  The open sea along the shore of Kühlungsborn offers ideal wind conditions, because of unhampered drafts over the sea that often lead to high wind speeds.

With 7.400 inhabitants Kühlungsborn is the biggest Baltic resort of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and possesses – with a length of 3.5 km - the longest promenade of northern Germany. The almost free view onto the sea attracts multiple thousand visitors to come and visit Kühlungsborn every year.

The 14.000 guest beds in private pensions, holiday flats, apartments and luxury hotels turn Kühlungsborn - without any doubt – into one of the most attractive Baltic Resorts of Germany.

Since 2004, the modern harbour, the venue of the World Championships, is in use and offers more than 400 moorages.  He is situated within spitting distance to the white beach of Kühlungsborn and is an excellent location for big sailing events.

Near the harbour the 240m long pier rises into the sea. This pier offers perfect conditions for live moderations during the competition. Hence, tourists and guests will get interesting explanations and information regarding Cadet sailing.
