For the second time, in more than 60 years of Cadet sailing, Germany has been elected by the International Cadet Class Association to host the World Championships.
In 2011 this international event will take 400 sailors on 200 boats, coming from 18 countries on 4 continents, to Kühlungsborn. In 10 days of CELEBRATE CADET SAILING these young sailors will compete with each other to find the Cadet World Champion of 2011 among them.
The harbour of Kühlungsborn will be central point for the young athletes. Here they are going to prepare their boats for the competition and from here they are going to start every morning.
On the Baltic Sea – right in front of the white beach – the competition is started on two different racing courses. Both courses and racing areas will be illustrated and moderated on the pier in order to let everybody join the unique event.
For all activities on shore, the “Cadet City” will be constructed and is going to be meeting point for events in the evening, presentations and daily price givings. Furthermore the Cadet City offers interested guests and tourists the possibility to learn more about Cadet sailing.
